Dar es Salaam. Former Vice President of the World Bank (WB), Justin Yifu Lin said Tanzania's economy will be dramatically if the country will construct vitakavyozalisha manufacturing export products.
Lin said yesterday that the country now sells raw materials to other nations which incorporate quality and Tanzania to sell more expensive.
Speaking at the presentation of Industrial Economics compiled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said Tanzania has to produce goods in bulk in order to export.
"African countries are poor, so they must ziondokane very zizalishe and export. Tanzania's economy is based on agriculture and sell products that do not zijasindikwa, "said Lin.
He said what should be done and Tanzania is to introduce a few industries vitakavyoajiri shoes and clothing so many people.
Lin said there must be special areas to make export products as well as being the transport and energy infrastructure.
Lin, who is a trained economist, said Rwanda has opened a textile factory, but raw cotton used to produce these clothes come from Tanzania.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bernard Membe said it was a shame to sell raw Kenya, while the country's annual awards ikiipa Tanzania to sell more goods abroad.
"They use our raw materials to produce products then they sell to us at great cost. We have to have factories in different areas in order to remove the overcrowding of manufacturing in only one region of Dar es Salaam, "he said.
Membe said in Dar es Salaam there are 2,400 out of 3,100 factories located in the country.
